Coppin State University welcomes alumni, family, and friends to it's Summer Concert Series. Bring your lawn chairs, food, beverages, family, and friends! Vendors on site!

August 22 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
New location: South Quad (between STC and HHSB)

This weekend is designed to help you transition smoothly into your new home and get acquainted with our vibrant campus life. We understand that sending your child off to college is a significant milestone for both you and your student. To help you navigate this transition, we have provided some essential information and resources specifically for parents.


Daley Hall New Student Move-in: 

  • Friday, August 22, 2025 - 9am to 4pm
  • Saturday, August 23, 2025 - 9am to 3pm
  • Sunday, August 24, 2025 - 9am to 2pm

Students participating in New Student Orientation on August 22nd, will collect their keys between 2pm and 4pm.

Move-In Day Tips:

  • Arrival Time: Make sure to arrive during your designated move-in time to ensure a smooth process. Volunteers will be available to assist with unloading and moving items into the residence halls.
  • Parking: Parking is available in designated areas. Please follow the signs and instructions from our staff to avoid any confusion.

Parent Orientation:

  • August 22:
    • 9 AM: Residential Hall meeting in JWJ Auditorium – Meet the Residence Life staff, learn about living on campus, and get answers to your questions.
    • Afternoon: After lunch, parents and guests are encouraged to explore the campus or local area while students attend orientation sessions.

Special Invitations for Parents and Families:

  • Summer Concert: Join us on the evening of August 22 for a delightful jazz concert.
  • Orientation Sessions: Parents are welcome to attend orientation sessions on August 22 to gain valuable insights and information about the university.
  • Lunch on August 22: A communal lunch will be provided for all attendees, with a separate lunch available for Scholars and their families.

Weekend Schedule Overview

  • All Day: Food trucks, festive atmosphere, and more.  – Talon Parking Lot – Open to all – Some food trucks have costs.

  • Evening: Jazz Concert.  – South Quad between STC and HHSB – Bring a blanket or chairs! – Free and open to all, but optional food trucks and vendors have a cost.
  • Evening: Rec Center open activities. – Physical Education Complex (PEC) – Free – Students only.
